Character:
Quilla can be described as a hardworking, focused, sweet, physically well balanced girl. She is game-on for anything I throw at her. Although right now we are focusing on her agility career, Quilla has rally obedience titles as well.
She enjoys hiking, swimming, visiting her college men’s lacrosse team and has been introduced to some therapy dog experiences. Quilla loves to travel with us and is not fazed by sights, noises or motion.
Quilla is a serious worker and does what she has been taught to do. She is dependable. She does not go at things in an out of control fashion but instead learns what is expected, perfects it and then the speed and power are soon to follow. She has self-preservation which I find so refreshing. This does not mean she is timid – she is NOT timid. She knows her body well and seems to protect it as best as she can. I would have to say full out craziness is not of interest to her.
She lives in a pack of 6 and I often have canine house guests to whom she accepts well.
Her personality shows great leadership with a presence that dogs acknowledge and respect. She is not a bully but she will give her warning smile to pushy dogs. I can trust her with all dogs we come in contact with. Although I would say that puppies are not her favorite – they chase her…… But she finds young adolescent dogs to be fun and often engages in games of chase with them. She settles well in the house, sleeps well at night, and is constantly by me but does not need to be on me. Outdoors her energy level is high, but steady.
She loves her humans and feels everyone at a trial must surely be there to see her and pets are highly expected. She works the petting game well, thanks Wings…
Quilla is absolutely the best fit for our family. Her stable personality, wonderful build, appealing look and game on personality allow her to be a part of all of our activities. Thank you Rob and Derede for all of your hard work and dedication to these Haute Volee puppies!

Character: Élan is energetic, smart, focused, driven, enthusiastic and willing to please. He is extremely biddable and has amazing work ethic. He is a fierce tugger and is obsessed with balls and Frisbees.
It was love at “first sight” for me on Élan’s (then Ocean) fourteenth day of life. All it took was one picture. As much as Derede warned me to not fall for one particular puppy (Derede is amazing at placing the right puppy with the right owner), I couldn’t help myself. There was something special about him and I was hooked from that day. I had to have him! Our relationship is special – we are so bonded. He loves to snuggle and be close, my constant shadow, always watchful and looking forwards to our next adventure.
As a puppy, he went through a short period where he was somewhat cautious meeting new people. He has since outgrown this and is very friendly, rubbing himself all over new people, like a cat – his signature mark. He is very friendly meeting new dogs, usually ignoring them if there is a ball or toy nearby! He is somewhat aware in new environments – not overly confident in unfamiliar settings, but his love of agility, wanting to work and please, and his trust in our relationship are overcoming these slight challenges. He is a “late bloomer” due to battling GI issues and Lyme Disease as a puppy but through it all has remained sweet, happy and eager!
He is unique in every way – including his coloring (he is a grey, passed down from his grandfather “Tarzan”). Rambunctious and playful with my other Tervuren (Chaos), my husband Bobby and I, but gentle with my elderly mother, who lives with us. We adore him and love him to pieces. We are so fortunate and thankful to Derede and Rob for this amazing boy and are grateful to have him in our lives. We cherish and love him every day!

Character: Péle was named for the Peregrine falcon – fast, stunning, structurally unimprovable. Péle the soccer player is equally apt. As is Pele the Hawaiian goddess of fire, lightening, wind and volcanoes. There’s nothing I would change about this wild, powerful, intense, fast, and gorgeous dog. Péle is always ready for *doing the things*, ALL of the things – agility, obedience, retrieve games, socializing, and even power lounging (though she didn’t learn to power lounge until she was 3 years old). She puts her all into every game and sport. She learns very quickly (so I better be sure I’m teaching what I think I’m teaching).
Finding the balance between drive and control is challenging. It’s a big part of our training every week, but when I keep my eye on that, I get incredible speed and precision in our primary sport of agility. Environmental stability has been such a gift with Péle. She’s rarely going to check things out for safety; rather she’ll just jump in with all 4 feet. For that reason, environmental safety is basically my job!
Puppy Péle lasted until about 3 years of age. We needed activities every day, no time off for the tired Mama! Our training sessions were always very short and varied – sometimes about agility, sometimes about husbandry (nail trims, brushing, that sort of thing), sometimes conditioning, sometimes learning to lie quietly with the rest of the pack. But I never had a day off from teaching and training. In fact, every moment of every day, Péle was learning, I just had to be sure she was learning what I wanted! It’s easier now that she’s three. But she still needs a lot of time, engagement, and mental stimulation. She
always will. That’s what I signed on for!

Temperament:
Soleil is a very happy, affectionate, outgoing dog that gets along with everyone. He is persistent with his bids for attention. Loves to be at your side and is very devoted to his owner. He spends time in the classroom with the college veterinary technician students that I teach. He is happy to roam the room and greet/hug the students. He has been used as a demo dog with my students on numerous occasions, while they learn to do physical exams and proper restraints, blood draws, and injections. Students have even bathed him and force air dried him. He has also helped students learn about positive reinforcement and clicker training. Soleil loves to shape the students learning.
Working ability:
Soleil is a talented and focused SAR tracking dog. He is currently training for Human Remains and Trailing. Trailing evaluations is planned for next month. He is happy to work and loves to be challenged.. He loves the water, swimming, and dock diving. When time allows he is happy to hit the agility ring for a class or trial.
Structure:
Soleil is a small and agile male with moderate bone. Don’t let the small size fool you, he is packed with strength and power. He has good angulation front and rear. He has a long neck and a coat that is deep red, with significant blackening. He is a handsome boy with a good expression.
